April 1, 2011 All states receive redistricting counts.
April 1, 2011 - Aug. 31, 2011 Target for county staff to construct database by year 2010 census block, conduct public meetings, and prepare redistricting plans for adoption by Board of Supervisors.

August 15, 2011 State Redistricting Commission has to approve its four maps and issue a report explaining what it did and how its maps comply with the law.

Target dates for Board of Supervisors to hold Public Hearings to first consider redistricting plan, then adopt final redistricting plan.
November 1, 2011 Last day for Supervisorial Reapportionment
November 11, 2011 E-88 for Presidential Primary in February.
December 30, 2011 Signatures in-lieu-of-filing fee period begins for U.S. Senate, Congressional, Legislative, and County candidates.
Last day for Supervisorial Commission to complete Reapportionment in the event the supervisors fail to adjust the boundary lines prior to Nov. 1, 2011.
This is the 45th day before the first day to circulate Nomination papers (Feb. 13) for supervisorial candidates. (EC§21506)
School districts subject to preclearance (share boundaries with Monterey County) must have redistricting plans completed and submitted to the US Dept. of Justice for approval.
January 30 2012 – February 8, 2012 Declaration of Intent for Judicial Candidates (last day for judges to file Sigs-in-lieu is Feb. 8, 2012)
February 23, 2012 Last day to file Signatures-in-lieu for Congressional, Legislative and County Candidates.
February 7, 2012* Current law establishes this date for the Presidential Primary.
February 13, 2012 - March 9, 2012 Nomination period for June 2012 Direct Primary.
March 1, 2012 School and Special Districts redistricting completed.
April 2, 2012 Election Department begins printing ballots.
June 5, 2012 California Direct Primary.
