Central Collections Division
Central Collections maximizes Santa Cruz County’s revenue by collecting delinquent accounts. These accounts include Unsecured Delinquent Taxes, Public Defender Fees, Sheriff Booking Fees and Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Fees, Juvenile Hall Charges, Planning Department Fees, Agricultural Commissioner Fees, and Animal Services Fines.
Collection Officers review and evaluate delinquent accounts to determine effective collection strategies. The officers call and send correspondence to many different individuals and entities. When necessary, Central Collections also pursues legal action to recover public debts.
