CalFire reports that the Trabing Fire is now 90% contained, and they expect full containment later today. 630 acres have burned.

Residents outside the immediate fire area, bounded by Highway 1, Calabasas Road, White Road, and Buena Vista, will be allowed to return to their homes. Residents within that area will not be allowed back in until further notice.

County Planning Department and CalFire will begin damage assessment today to determine the number of structures burned.

Water tenders 9

The forward progression of the fire has been stopped, but there is heavy mop up in eucalyptus groves. The weather is expected to remain abnormally hot and dry today. Firefighters will continue to improve line and put out hot spots.

Temperature today expected to be 94 to 104 degrees, 11%-19% humidity.

100-150 large animals (horses, cattle, etc) are being sheltered at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds and another 50 at the Graham Hill Showgrounds
