Gary Knutson, the Santa Cruz County Auditor-Controller, has been installed as President of the California State Association of County Auditors.

The Association fosters communication among auditors, facilitates the exchange of ideas, training and education, establishes guidelines to implement legislative acts, and strives to preserve public accountability. Mr. Knutson is the fourth Auditor from Santa Cruz County to serve as president of the Association.

The installation took place on Thursday, April 12, 2001, at the association's annual conference in Orange County. The installing officer was Past President Pam Kindig of Napa County. Mr. Knutson succeeds Ken Corcoran of Contra Costa County.

Mr. Knutson said, "I am honored and privileged to serve as the 92^nd president of the Association, an honor not bestowed on many during their careers."
