County departments remained open today in the absence of  members of SEIU who were on strike.  Departments were staffed with managers and employees who were previously designated as essential workers.

County Administrative Officer, Susan Mauriello, said “The one day strike was an unfortunate interruption of County services, however, through the outstanding efforts of County managers and essential employees, the County was able to maintain critical services during this one day strike. I hope the Union will return to the bargaining table and will work with management to bring this matter to a conclusion with no further disruption of public services.”
